FRANKLIN YOUTH HOCKEY ASSOCIATION

Learn To Skate Overview

2023-2024

FYHA’s Learn to Skate is designed for beginner skaters, including boys and girls with limited to no skating experience. Using USA Hockey curriculums as a guide, our volunteer coaches develop and execute instructional drills designed to teach basics including proper stance, strides, knee bend, use of edges and stopping.

The ice is eventually split into sections, allowing participants to be grouped based on age, ability and progression. At coaches’ discretion, skaters who are ready for the Little Flyers (formerly FYHA’s Intro to Hockey) program can transition at any point. Most importantly, we strive to create a fun, friendly environment that encourages future FYHA hockey players!

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Learn to Skate is open to residents of Franklin and surrounding communities, ages 3-9.

WHEN IS LTS?

Learn to Skate begins November 12th and ends March 18th. Each session runs from 12:00 – 12:50 p.m. at Pirelli Veterans Arena in Franklin.
